Remote Position!
As a Medicare Risk Adjustment (MRA) Medical Clerk, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our Care Team by acting as a key liaison between healthcare providers, our MRA Team, and insurance carriers. Your main responsibilities include collecting, communicating, and documenting accurate patient information before and after visits. You'll ensure that carrier attestation forms, supporting documentation, and other necessary paperwork are completed and submitted on time, helping maintain an up-to-date and accurate reflection of patients' medical statuses. This work is vital for closing HCC Gaps and ensuring compliance with documentation requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a liaison between providers, the MRA Team, and insurance carriers.
Manage pre- and post-visit data collection, communication, and documentation.
Coordinate the completion and submission of carrier attestation forms and supporting documents.
Utilize daily schedules, carrier websites, forms, fax/scanners, and other tools to complete tasks while adhering to HIPAA privacy regulations.
Perform periodic audits to ensure error-free documentation.
Communicate any identified trends or issues with processes, carriers, or provider responses.
Demonstrate competency with computers, standard office equipment, and medical terminology.
Basic knowledge of coding preferred.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Standards:
Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
Complete all clerical tasks in a timely manner.
Ensure accurate completion of required forms, with periodic audits showing no documentation errors.
Communicate effectively about trends or issues with processes, carriers, or provider responses.
Demonstrate proficiency with computers and standard office equipment.
Strong background in medical terminology is required.
General coding knowledge is preferred.
