Job Description

This position represents a unique opportunity to provide valuations expertise within a dynamic private equity environment, working with a visionary senior management team on strategic investments, performance monitoring and valuation of the fund’s investments.

This hire will be primarily responsible for determining the fair value of investments for quarterly financial reporting, and providing valuable and timely insight to management on the investments.

Responsibilities include (not all inclusive):

  • Develop, update, review and maintain valuation models in accordance with the firm’s valuation policies.
  • Monitor and analyze investment performance and business plans.
  • Manage outsourced valuation services, including the gathering and provision of pertinent data to the outsourced providers.
  • Maintain strong relationships with portfolio companies, deal professionals, accounting team members and senior management.
  • Enhance process and review vendor work product to improve efficiency and mitigate errors in deliverables.
  • Prepare and distribute reports/slide decks in adherence to reporting deadlines.
  • Support the quarterly financial statement review / annual audit and address additional follow-up questions/enquiries via internal or external auditors as they relate to valuations.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 4-8 years of relevant experience gained at a prestigious accounting or consulting firm or independent valuation firm or private equity firm. Professional client service firm experience combined with industry experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. BA/BS/MS/MBA in Finance, Accounting or Economics from a top university, relevant industry certifications (e.g., CFA, ASA, CPA, ACA) are a plus.
  • Strong inter-personal skills to interact confidently with Portfolio Companies, Deal Professionals, Accounting Team Members and Senior Management.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with attention to detail are required.
  • Desire to succeed in a fast-paced, demanding and dynamic entrepreneurial environment.
