Job Description

Dapt is seeking a detail-oriented and fast-learning Javascript Developer - Customer Delivery to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting the payroll and accounting requirements of our SMB clients and creating queries and custom code to generate reports. You should be a strong problem-solver who can identify trends, insights, and common logical patterns between reports. While experience is valued, we prioritize critical thinking, a willingness to learn, and the ability to process information quickly to find opportunities for improvement. This is a fully remote (work-from-home) position.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work closely with customer success, team members, and other relevant stakeholders to quickly understand report requirements.
• Ramp up on our existing custom reports and queries codebase, and identify commonalities and opportunities to produce reports more rapidly.
• Use Kibana to explore datasets.
• Write Elasticsearch queries and node.js code to produce reports that meet customer requirements.
• Iteratively validate and troubleshoot gaps between reports and requirements.
• Contribute to our growing library of cleanly written and well-tested generic, componentized, and reusable code.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years of experience querying with SQL and/or NoSQL technologies
• Understanding of Elasticsearch and the Elastic Stack (Elk) is helpful but not required.
• Experience writing and debugging complex Kibana queries using filters, aggregations, and search functions is a plus.
• 1-2+ years of proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python or Java
• Experience with JavaScript and Node.js and related technologies (e.g., npm, nvm, etc.) is preferred
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to accurately interpret and translate complex requirements into efficient and effective queries.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently and collaborate with the team as needed, following established coding standards and guidelines.
• Comfortable working within a fast-paced startup environment. Able to quickly identify and resolve issues, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively to meet aggressive deadlines.
• Possess a keen eye for detail and can deliver high-quality, error-free code.
• Familiar with agile development methodologies and able to work within a fast-paced, iterative development environment.
• Proficient in using version control systems (such as Git) and project management tools (such as JIRA).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred. Related experience and/or certifications will be considered.
• Broad industry knowledge with experience in payroll, time tracking, or accounting is a significant plus.
