Environmental Department Manager Location Baltimore, MD :

OVERVIEW:
The Environmental Manager will be responsible for implementing, managing and monitoring all environmental programs for the site while working with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will take initiative to solve complex challenges and have a strong ability to think laterally in delivering project solutions.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages a variety of air, water, emergency response, and groundwater assessment and remediation compliance projects.
- Manages multiple permitting requests for Air, Water, Industrial Wastes as well as compliance.
- Works with the management teams and associates to instill a genuine culture of awareness and responsibility at the site
- Partner with Waste Water Treatment contractor on operations at Joint Treatment Plant.
- Provides management team with guidance on environmental regulations in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines and regulation
- Responds to on-site emergencies and incidents and walks the site on a regular basis to establish environmental presence and provide support.
- Prepares and submits various types of incident reports, environmental permit applications and compliance reporting, including but not limited to: NDPES, SMR/DMR, SWPPP SPCC, Title V, annual permit reporting, GHG verification, etc.
- Perform a variety of duties for various assessments / projects within the Baltimore Refinery including management, investigation, remediation, and monitoring of environmental projects
- Prepare routine correspondence, data reports, standardized documents and work plans for internal and external reviews.
- Manage projects, write proposals, complete field work, and write summary reports as needed.
- Managing and staying current on community development to respond to and protect company interests through implementation of agreements, measures and/or solutions that ensure our continued ability to operate and maintain compliance with our site environmental permits.
- Ability to manage relationships with Federal, Local and State agencies, community associations, legal teams, consultants, and developers.
- Lead environmental and sustainability training for the site
- Lead employee engagement efforts including oversight of environmental committees and the internal environmental audits/inspections
- Participate and lead response to all internal or external audit and/or inspections.
- Prepares weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports as required
- Performs other duties and assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledgeable of federal, local, and state regulations for environmental compliance
- Minimum 4-5 years of experience in air, water and waste reporting, permitting and approvals in a manufacturing environment
- Candidate must have excellent technical writing and verbal communications skills.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of a B.S. Degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering. Environmental Science or closely related field required.
