DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Production Group is GBH’s in-house video and audio post-production facility serving a diverse customer-base. With GBH clients such as American Experience, Frontline, Nova, Masterpiece, and Antiques Roadshow, The Production Group also provides finishing services to national and international independent producers. Our facilities deliver a high volume of programming to PBS and other major distribution networks each week.
JOB OVERVIEW
Under the general supervision of the Senior Post-Production Manager for The Production Group, the Audio Mix Engineer is primarily responsible for audio post-production on a Pro Tools S6 system, with additional recording duties using Comrex and other hardware and software combinations. In addition, a variety of technical and maintenance duties can be assigned. These duties may be performed for internal GBH customers as well as external customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with project producers and post-production supervisors and use the available tools to assemble (edit and mix) tracks, engineer narration records/Comrex sessions, create effects and make tech adjustments to audio signal as part of the process of assembling a program for broadcast or non-broadcast purposes.
SKILL SET
Must be a team player, customer-service oriented, versatile and willing to perform a number of different positions as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Candidates for this position must have 5-10 years’ experience in audio post-production and related operations.
