**Job Title:** Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

**Location:**Jackson Ridge Healthcare Center, Maquoketa, IA 

**Job Type:** Full-time/Part-time/Per Diem

**Reports To:** Nursing Supervisor/Director of Nursing

**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care, support nursing staff, and ensure the comfort and well-being of patients in accordance with established practices and standards.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and report any changes in condition to nursing staff.
- Help patients with mobility, including transferring, walking, and using mobility aids.
- Assist with feeding patients who require help, ensuring dietary restrictions are respected.
- Maintain a clean and safe patient environment, including tidying rooms and changing linens.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
- Assist nurses with basic medical procedures and support with medical equipment.
- Follow patient care plans as directed by nursing staff, ensuring all care is provided with respect and dignity.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain sanitary conditions within the facility.
- Participate in training and continuing education as required to maintain certification.

**Qualifications:**

- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from an accredited program.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to empathize with patients and provide emotional support.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Ability to lift and reposition patients as required.

**Physical Requirements:**

- Must be able to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to [insert weight limit, e.g., 50 pounds].
- Availability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
