Our mission in SPS Finance Insights & Analytics (FIA) at Amazon is to provide complete and accurate data for financial and business reporting and analytics. As such, FIA designs, builds, maintains and enhances scalable systems that provide accurate data as well as actionable insights to the business.

As a Business Analyst in FIA, you will be responsible for working with terabytes of data to develop automated and self service scalable solutions for Finance and Business Partners. You will be responsible for building a robust set of operational, financial and business metrics,requirements documentation and will utilize metrics to determine improvement opportunities.

From Day 1, you will be challenged with a variety of tasks, ranging from creating datasets, reports, dashboards to metadata modeling, pipeline monitoring. You will interact with our internal Program, Finance, Operations and Business teams, and technical teams to gather requirements, structure data solutions, and gain a deep understanding of key datasets. You will design, implement and drive adoption of new analytic technologies and solutions and promote industry standard best practices. You will be responsible to tune query performance against large and complex data sets. You will help translate analytic insights into concrete, actionable recommendations for business or product improvement.

Key job responsibilities
- Gather business requirements, document specifications, identify appropriate resources needed, assemble the right project team, assign individual responsibilities, and develop the milestones and launch schedule to ensure timely and successful delivery of the project
- Design and develop highly available dashboards and metrics in Quicksight, our business analytics platform
- Perform business analysis and data queries using SQL, R etc

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 3+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience
- 3+ years of business analyst, data analyst or similar role experience
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
- Experience with Excel
