Step into a lead role within IGT’s Las Vegas game studios as an Animator V, where your creativity and vision will help shape not only our newest games but the very culture of innovation within our studios. In this senior role, you’ll guide animation projects from concept through to completion, setting the visual tone for our groundbreaking titles and mentoring junior animators to achieve new levels of artistry. By working closely with cross-disciplinary teams—from game designers to software developers—you’ll drive a holistic approach to game development that pushes the boundaries of what gaming can be. Your contributions will play a key role in IGT’s mission to pioneer the future of gaming, ensuring that every animation enhances the player experience and leaves a lasting impression.

 

  • Lead the creation of complex animations and dynamic visual effects, bringing characters and worlds to life with an advanced level of artistic and technical expertise in EGM development.
  • Drive the creative vision for animation across multiple EGM projects, setting standards for quality and style.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on animation strategies and higher-level artistic decisions, contributing to the creative direction.
  • Spearhead the development of specialized animation techniques for complex game mechanics, such as progressive bonuses, jackpots, and immersive bonus rounds.
  • Mentor and coach less experienced animators, guiding them in refining their skills and mastering industry tools and techniques.
  • Review animation assets created by junior team members for integration into the game engine, ensuring they meet performance and visual standards.
  • Innovate by developing new animation techniques, improving workflows, and incorporating advanced visual effects like particle systems and motion graphics to enhance the gaming experience.
  • Ensure the tone, atmosphere, and aesthetic integrity of animations align with the intended player experience, making adjustments as needed.
  • Partner with game designers to conceptualize animation sequences that enhance storytelling and player interaction within the game.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with a preference for advanced degrees in relevant fields.
  • 15 years of professional animation experience, including at least 12 years in roles focused on game development.
  • Proven track record of leading animation projects or teams within the gaming industry, especially for EGMs or other real-time interactive experiences.
  • Expertise in animation software (e.g., After Effects, Maya, Blender), with demonstrated leadership in animation or visual effects projects.
  • Strong understanding of EGM-specific animation elements, such as reel spins, symbol transitions, and jackpot effects.
  • Familiarity with animation pipelines for slot games or casino gaming, including experience with integrating assets into proprietary game engines or development platforms.
  • Acute attention to detail in movement, composition, and timing, coupled with experience in fast-paced development environments.

At IGT, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $86,538/yr - $220,000/yr. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.

 

Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program. Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses . In addition, we offer employees a 401(k) Savings Plan with Company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance. Note: programs are subject to eligibility requirements.
